At the beginning of Depeche Mode, there was Vince Clarke, then came Martin L. Gore, and now there is also Dave Gahan. It wasn't easy for him to grab this new role, considering Martin's very good job, but he actually did it, almost twenty years later, after doing what everyone should do in this case: record his own album. "Paper Monsters" had a great name and a great single, but wasn't until "Hourglass", his second LP, that we realised that he could do the job, and do it really well.
